My wife and I have tried IVF 7 times (three times in the U.S. and four times in the Czech Republic with donor eggs) and while she has become pregnant 4 times, she cannot carry the pregnancy to term. Thus, we are looking for a surrogate to carry the embryo. Is traditional surrogacy legal in the Ukraine (where artificial insemination could be used instead of IVF?) We have already spent so much money on IVF that this would be a way of bypassing the cost of IVF in addition to the fees assiciated with surrogacy. Obviously, the child would be genetically related to the surrogate mother, but if the reward were greater for her, she might be inclined to do so. Any information on this would be helpful. We would even be open to having the surrogate come live with us in the U.S. for the term of the pregnancy and longer if she wished. Let me know what you think or what is possible. The success of implantation would depend on so many different factors such as age of patients, quality of genetic matter, medical compatibility, health condition, etc., etc. Acording to the world average statistics, basing on the experience gained by the world best clinics of reproductive medicine and maintained by reproductive human medical center as well, the rate of success of one IVF attempt varies from 37 to 42 per cent. The chances are highly increased if a young egg donor is used.
If the quality of the genetic material provided by the parents is perfect, the chances of success basing on one attempt of embryo transfer may be as high as 50 % or still higher.
